Nuo is a soft and flexible material like leather, but produced from thin wood veneers (0.5 mm), coupled with a layer of cotton with the use of environmentally sustainable adhesives and engraved by laser cutting with micro texture. If desired, the material can be coated with a layer of water or oil paint. The color also varies according to the wood used, while different textures give different tactile experiences. The wood used comes from forests managed with respect for the environment and renewed, while the reduction of carbon dioxide emitted during the process is 60% compared to the real leather industry.
