A valid alternative to laminated wood is the Coconut Husk Board, made entirely of natural coconut shell. More than simply giving new life to a waste material, Goodhout identifies its strengths by exploiting the glues naturally present in the coconut which are activated through a high pressure process and act as a natural binder. The main properties of the coconut shell, such as low moisture absorption and flame retardant, are naturally transmitted to the material without further treatment.
