Eloquence

Bio-based hydrophobic elastomers made with polymers of natural origin mixed with waste deriving from agro-food supply chains which also the color derives from (such as green from parsley or red from tomato). These are new advanced composite materials with carefully modulated properties but at the same time with minimal environmental impact. The sample exhibited is a bioelastomer obtained with the recovery of micronized cocoa shells, mixed with PDMS (water-repellent polymer) through a simple mechanical mixing process without the use of chemicals. The material also has antioxidant properties.
